SCAM ALERT!!!

I received an immediate response to my 54 Dodge add, Then came payment time they want to send more money than the purchase price, a scam and a half, here it is. Garry

   Thanks for the mail, In order to conclude our arrangement concerning your vehicle my client wants to purchase. I forwarded your mail content with the pictures of this vehicle to him and he agreed on the price you are selling but he said you will be getting payment in the form of a cashier check in the amount of $11,000.
 
      He explained to me that this amount will come to you in that form based on earlier order he made from a company in the states but it did not workout because there was delay in the shipment of the goods he ordered so he has proposed that if you agree with the terms of payment you should forward your name phone number and address for him to forward to the company to make out the check in your name and when the check gets to you ,you are to refund the balance{$6,500} to his shipper via Western Union money transfer immediately for him to be able to arrange for shipping on time. So confirm this and provide the info for payment to get to you.

Be very suspicious of any transactions out of the ordinary. Better to be safe than sorry!

He's not the only one to fall victim. I was also contacted by " Kris " wanting to buy my Ramcharger & ship it to the Netherlands! No money was lost, But beware. Scott.

Here is another example of the scam!

We are interested in buying your above mentioned Rolling Plymouth at advertised rate. Car will be picked up from your location for onward shipping to London. Cost and modalities of shipping to be born by us.

Payment for the purchase is by check through a debtor in US. The debtor  owes us higher  than our purchase. He will therefore be sending you a check for $7,000 to cover the cost of our order, as well as the Shipping costs.

On receipt of the check, you will cash and deduct the cost of our order .The balance you will send as we would instruct you to the Agency that will ship the car to us. If this arrangement suites you fine, please send us your address where to send the check, as well as the name to be on it. Also send us your phone number for easy communication.
